Unrelenting efforts of Video Volunteers' community correspondent from Maharashtra, Chetan Salve has resulted in 35 families receiving ration after a wait of one year.
Their ration had stopped after their existing ration cards were digitised and all their data was stored online. There was a delay in issuing new digital ration cards and hence they were not getting their share of grains. When Chetan Salve approached the local tehsildar with the issue and showed him a video documenting the inconvenience caused to the villagers, he ordered for new login details to be issued to the villagers.
Now, the villagers of Akhrani - belonging to Maharashtra's Nandurbar district - are receiving ration with their new digital ration cards and are thankful to Chetan Salve for taking up this issue on behalf of them.
